Our members have requested Swedish classes since we started. When you are an asylum seekers, undocumented or have been granted a temporary protection in Sweden under the EU´s Temporary Protection Directive you are not eligible for taking part in Swedish classes given by SFI in municipalities. In some regions, asylum seekers can take part of Swedish classes given by the civil sector but many can´t! We think it is important that all newcomers to Sweden can take part of education in the Swedish language! This is why we happy to announce that we will give Swedish classes in cooperation with ABF Stockholm. There is no funding for this so it will be completely volunteer based: Rainbow Refugees Sweden provides fika and teachers, ABF Stockholm let us use their premises. Starting date was Tuesday 26th of September. Are you an asylum seekers, undocumented or have been granted a temporary protection in Sweden under the EU´s Temporary Protection Directive and want to take part? Get in touch with us to learn more!
